NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS – DUMP THEM!

NewYear.jpg

I know, I know t’is the time for new year resolutions and the closely followed self-flagellation, but can I suggest a more gentle approach this year?...

The level of uncertainty we are in, I reckon we can afford to be a little kinder to ourselves this year.  As many of you know I am not a huge fan of setting goals at the beginning of the year anyway – Don’t get me wrong I am goal centric but my vision board is a moving, living representation of the story of my life, not a list of unrelated stuff I want and places still to see on my bucket list, cobbled together when I have just spent a week in Christmas cheer, bingeing on Netflix and shopping like a woman possessed!

Here’s a more heart centred, values driven approach.

Instead of a list of stuff, targets and experiences why not define the themes of your life over the coming 12 months.  What do you want your story to be about? Spending some time doing this allows you to ensure the plans, stuff and experiences that follow resonate with you at a deep level and have a chance of surviving beyond January.

What are your themes?  Adventure, service, connection, authenticity, solitude, transformation, success, career progression, health, spirituality, curiosity etc?

My 2021 themes are:

  • Making A Difference

  • Creating and living my Legacy

  • Learning and growing

  • Teaching and sharing

  • Living my best authentic life

  • In my present awareness.

Having these as my go to chapter headings ensures I manifest the right wants and needs and not a random list of nice to haves.

So be kinder to yourself this year, create the big vision, your themes, your chapter headings – the values that will support you regardless of the unremitting confusion we continue to be surrounded by.

Make 2021 matter for the right reasons
